On Monday afternoon, those who wanted to risk their hearing were able to buy Lady Gaga's ARTPOP album for the all-time desperate price of $3.99 at both Amazon.com and Google Play. This is happening as Amazon and other outlets are trying to rid physical copies of the album at a pathetic $6.99. Though the discounts are helping ARTPOP sell a few extra copies, music industry insiders believe practically giving away the album for free is a bad move.
"Interscope has already lost $25 million trying to promote this record. Now, they are spending even more trying to rid stores of the musical piece of trash. Any other record company would have dropped her by now. She must be doing 'special favors' for all the executives there," a music industry insider tells us.
Meanwhile, the desperation continues. Lady Gaga and her team have claimed some sellouts for her upcoming ARTPOP tour. However, concert promoters have revealed that several thousands of seats have been 'held back' to give the illusion that Gaga is selling a lot of tickets. Live Nation can spin ticket sales all they want. The fact that there have not been any extra dates added in even the biggest cities shows how far the world's most famous plagiarizer has fallen.
