Generally we put it up 12 days before Christmas and take it down 12 days after.

It annoys me when people get their trees way too early, and then take them down right after Christmas
I mean the real Christmas season starts with Advent and lasts until the 3 kings.

We usually put it up on the 1st of December, and then take it down sometime in the first week of January or so.
