Lorde's LASTING impact is yet to be seen.

The thing is that there was no much lasting impact, musically. When they looked up for music because of SLTS in Seattle there were the bands already there, Like Mudhoney, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden but these bands didn't look up Nirvana for influence.
Lyrically they were all the same, musically Nirvana's influence is Pixies the other bands looked up for Led Zepp.
The impact of Lorde is the same like Nirvana? For sure not but I wouldn't wonder when the critics will measure in the future more the lyrical content of Pop.
Musically? Why not, I didn't see one band who is seen as a successor of Nirvana. But then again I see musically the mastermind for the future music more in Kanye West than Lorde.
But who wants to identify with Kanye, well Lorde otherwise grave a different kind of buzz.
Why was Nirvana the last band who could change the music and fashion in that way? Because it was another time, we were all watching MTV.
Today we can all look up for us-self for new music, this hinders a new overall movement.
