Microaggressions are defined as:
Quote:
“Racial microaggressions are brief and commonplace daily verbal, behavioral, or environmental indignities, whether intentional or unintentional, that communicate hostile, derogatory, or negative racial slights and insults towards people of color.”
|
This definition, I feel, should also be extended to not just people of color but also any marginalized group (including the LGBTQ communuity).
So, how often do you encounter microaggressions? Do you tend to speak up, and if so, how? Please be sensitive and considerate of people's feelings and stances.
