For those in open relationships I don't and shouldn't judge because no one but that couple knows what is going on in their relationship.

Its no ones place to determine what is right or wrong when certain things work for others that wouldn't necessarily work for us. I have seen some gays in open relationships say being monogamous is a heteronormative way of thinking I'm like just do you and i'll do things my way.

Different relationship styles work for different couples. I could not be in an open relationship, especially because I am gay. I don't want to widen the chances of getting STDs. On top that, being exclusive makes the relationship even more special If I wanted to keep my options open, then I would simply just do that!

And it is important to know what style works best for you. I agree with the user who said honesty is important. I'd rather my partner tell me he's into open relationships so that we could go on our separate ways, rather than he cheat on me.

I believe in honesty. Having an open relationship >>> telling someone you're going to be monogamous and cheating on them.

I personally believe in monogamy, though I wouldn't be opposed to bringing in a third person every once in a while to spice things up.

What really matters is honesty, and that both participants in the relationship are on the same page.
