Beyonce has better production. ARTPOP's production is either noisy, overproduced, generic, too similar to BTW at some points or blatant 70s/80s rip-offs.

NO. EDM does not equate with messy, which is what best describes ARTPOP's cacophonous production. The successful songs in the genre are, for the most part, produced by DJ's who know when enough is enough, who have restraint, a concept Gaga and DJWS view as an urban legend.

But if you actually listened to EDM, you'd know this. ARTPOP, minus 3-ish songs, is pure noise.

EDM encompasses a wide spectrum. Zedd is one of the biggest DJs in the EDM scene right now and he knows how to craft a hit. Madeon as well, to a lesser extent. There is certainly edm music that makes use of simple, minimalistic production, but there's just as much that makes use of complex, "messy" sounds. Complextro and "brostep" are two such genres. Both of which are staples on Artpop. Its fine if you don't personally like the sound of those genres, but that's simply an opinion. The production on artpop is pretty complex and layered on some songs. Maybe its just not your taste, and that's fine, but it doesn't make it fact.

Either way, Beyonce and Artpop are two very different albums, in two very different genres for two very different audiences. Its no surprise that Beyonce fans hate artpop's production.

I listen to EDM almost exclusively, and am very familiar with both Zedd & Madeon's productions. I'm just saying that as a whole, ARTPOP is loud. Yes, Zedd & others have productions that can also be classified as such, but the major difference is that they don't also have the vocalist yapping over virtually every square inch of the beat. They have breathers (or entire songs) where it's just the beat taking precedence. ARTPOP suffers from having everything going on at once, literally.

And regarding your last statement, I'm a Gaga fan, not a Beyonce fan. And I like EDM, not R&B. Still, "Beyonce" is a clear winner. Call it objectivity I guess.

ARTPOP is just a cliche, erratic, generic, overproduced EDM cluster**** that pretentiously wants to be seen as highbrow and "Avant-garde", but in reality is really just a collection of noisy, weird, hyper-tempo'd nonsense that is so annoying that it becomes both obnoxious and unlistenable. Any Beyonce album is better than it.
