Coming in at #8 is CHVRCHES with "The Mother We Share", off their debut album, 'The Bones Of What You Believe'. Ugh, I just love this song. Lauren's vocals are perfect over this beautiful track. When I was making my list of Top 50, I didn't realize how much this song impacted me until afterwards when I finalized my list.
I don't know how to describe the beats, but basically the beats that begin right at the beginning of the song got stuck in your head one day, and I'd just hum that rhythm non-stop. Perfect track. CANNOT wait for more from them. I suggest you listen to their album.
7. Justin Timberlake - "Mirrors"
Off 'The 20/20 Experience', Justin Timberlake returns big with "Mirrors". I don't even know how long I was addicted to this song. It sounds exactly like something off his previous record, yet so fresh. Whenever I heard this on the radio, it's just so tempting to turn it up and sing along. I love the overall message of the song as well.
My favourite part of the song is when he does those long "ahh" and "ooohs" and also the sort of chant-like chorus during the middle of the song...
"It's like your mirror...(oh oh ohoh), My mirror staring back at me"
Just perfect production over JT's soothing vocals. "Mirrors" was my guilty pleasure of 2013, and I'm sure it was several other people's as well. I don't know how he could do it so right, and then go on and miserably fail to duplicate it with other singles. I definitely think that this song will go down as one of JT's signature hits however.
