PC isn't the first doctor to be cast who has already been in the show before, it really isnt too big a deal and they could easily come up with an explanation for it.

Did you watch Children of Earth? There's no way they're going to bring up Peter Capaldi's storyline in Torchwood in the family friendly Doctor Who...

Other Doctors may have been in the show prior to becoming the Doctor as well, but none of them starred as the Secondary Antagonist in 4 Episodes of my Favourite 5 Part storyline, potentially ruining it for me forever. How am I going to be able to watch that season again without thinking "That's the Doctor, That's the Doctor, That's The Doctor..."? It's going to take me completely out of it.

Suppose they could make some jokes about the Doctor looking like a Famous British Politician, but it's still going to stain Children of Earth for me.

Peter Capaldi was previously on Doctor Who. He appeared in "The Fires of Pompeii".

I've seen all of Torchwood (including Children on Earth & Miracle Day) but I don't remember it that well so I don't think it will be much of an issue for me.

Right? Davids first and the last scenes were bad, but everything between them was gold

Capaldi is a good actor. Im more concerned about Moffat tbh

For the lack of a proper thread, I'm going to post here instead. Recently I began watching Doctor Who. I'm on season 6 now and I must this show is brilliant.
Season 1 - awesome.
Season 2 - 4 - brilliant. Just loved David Tennant as a doctor. His relationships with his companions + him being overly emotional was the core of the show in my opinion.
I didn't like season 5 a lot. Maybe because of the new Doctor and the change of the front runner. It's like I was watching a different show. I also didn't like how they broke the Time Laws/Rules several times during the finale and the Christmas special.
Season 6, however (and so far), is beyond perfect. The plot twist with River Song being Melody Pond (or whatever her last name is) left me speechless. I still can't believe I didn't saw it coming. The only water in the forest is the river. Just brilliant. Oh, and SPOILERS!
