compared to literally just macklemore and ryan lewis

Half you people don't know what you're talking about. Macklemore is only "independent" for show. He actually has a deal with Warner Music Group. They market and distribute his music...and provide additionally funding, like paying to get his music airplay (and therefore recoup monies made from their investment.)
