She's the one that gives us information about producers, video directors, what we can expect, what the music will sound like, the whole image about combining ART and POP etc. If she would just give us a release date and let the music and videos speak for themselves, there wouldn't be a problem. The more details you get, the more things you can create in your head. And that always leads to disappointment. So yes, of course the fans hyped the album too. But if we wouldn't get that many details, there wouldn't be anything to hype about. Best example for how to do it right: Beyonce. Not when it comes to surprise releases but when it comes to hype.
And it's not about one bad era. She's too talented to f*ck around like this and p*ss everyone off. If you can see that someone doesn't learn form mistakes, why would anything be better in the future? I still enjoy her older music of course and one bad album is no reason for me to "jump ship" but if the messiness of the
Born This Way era and now
ARTPOP is an indication for what we can expect in the future, well?
Not to mention that she got rid of basically everyone in her team that criticized her and actually had some brain.
