In relative terms, more people probably buy it in the run up to Christmas while doing Christmassy things and after watching Christmassy films.
On actual Christmas day, the people buying the actual song are outnumbered by the hoards of giftcarders buying old songs. So comparatively, it's dropping. Today is still probably its largest day of sales, however. Hope that makes sense.
