Nintendo has more than enough money in the bank to keep going for at least two, if not more decades. They've always had a track record of stumbling out the gate with new consoles and handhelds because they never get any good first party games out until the first or second year of the console's lifespan, and then they remain selling consistently. So I mean, the haters can believe what they want, but Nintendo is perfectly fine. Pokemon X/Y and Animal Crossing New Leaf were two of the best selling games of 2013, and with the lineup of games they have in store for us in 2014, I think it's safe to say Nintendo isn't going anywhere any time soon.

Sony can only move units when they less them at a loss, I feel so bad for their fans who they think they have some kind of selling power.

The usual doing too much on Nintendo.
3DS is slaying so they may as well just ride out the wave of this flop until they up their game next era.
The back to back clocking.
Get em, together.
Nintendo can't stop & it won't stop.
They'll be okay. I remember when the GameCube was out, and it was overshadowed by the Playstation 2, but then the Wii ended up much bigger than the Playstation 3.
They really just need good games for the console. The most high profile releases on there are the New Super Mario Bros. Wii U variants (which are rather tepid compared to the 3D plat formers like SM64, Sunshine, and Galaxy IMO), Sonic Lost Worlds (which in itself is from a franchise that's had an irrevocably bad reputation since 2006), and a Wind Waker Reboot. The Wii, by contrast, started out with Mario Galaxy and Twilight Princess, with Brawl not far behind.
A new Zelda title would do wonders, but they just put out a new one for 3DS, so it would be a while... Super Smash Bros. is coming with a new installment, though. Just not soon enough.
I don't think Nintendo is going to tank like that before the others do. Wii U sales aren't hot but Nintendo is still the legendary mother of gaming. They have decades of back to back smashes especially with the portables and have a lot of other successful avenues they can use as leverage while they figure out what they will do about the Wii U. It was a misfire, everything about it was wrong. I think they should be zeroing in on hardcore gamers again.
