I see a lot of people on ATRL talk about vocals like its their mother. But aside from vocals, how much do you know about music, such as music theory, or composition, or audio engineering?
I know quite a bit, actually. I've studied music all my life. I'm a songwriter, vocalist, and pianist. I'm currently taking classes and I take music really seriously. It's literally my life. I know a lot about music, and it bothers me that people on ATRL who haven't studied music think they know everything about it. I know I don't, but when people who know nothing about it try and stick their nose into stuff they don't know what they're talking about, it bothers me.

But all people are entitled to their opinion, and a lot of people on this forum just state how they feel.
You don't need to study music to know who sings better, writes better, performs better, etc.
I only know my opinion and if i say something it's because it's my opinion even if you know vocal range or watever then i respect you for knowing but also respect others for the opinions they have if someone someone says a singer has bad vocals but a music major says they have great vocals well that's what you think let the other member have there opinion cause some of ya'll take this **** to seriously
I'm a frustrated musician. I don't know how to sing and I don't know how to play an instrument. Besides, I'm not good at writing lyrics. I just enjoy music and compile it on lists.
I can't even read it; however, I don't try to have educated conversations about it either because as long as it sounds good to me that's all that really matters.
But I don't act like I know a lot anyways, so yeah.
