Dutch media tycoon John de Mol, the man behind Big Brother and The Voice, is now launching Utopia. A new 1 year tv show, airing on Dutch tv from January 6 till December 31 2014.

15 strangers get a plot of land, some animals and a barn. They have to built a completely new community and live with each other, from scratch.

Will this be Johns new Big Brother?

I would definitely watch this. Competition reality shows are my guilty pleasures. I would literally watch ANY competition show. ANY.

Not a year long season

I feel like this is going to flop, at least in The Netherlands, if they weren't able to keep 'The Gouden Kooi' alive with close to a million watchers, not to mention 'Secret Story'. I doubt this will do anything too, especially on SBS6.
