I'm so tired of Christmas and Birthday gifts. Every year I tell my family/friends that I'm not going to give any and don't want to receive any either. However, each year they continue to waste their money and give me crap I won't use or don't want. Why not save their money and buy themselves something they want?

I'm sorry but I'm the type of person that if I'm want something I go and get it for myself. I'm very picky about the brand, model, color, etc. of almost everything I buy. I constantly research and read reviews on stuff to ensure what I'm getting is quality.

You may be thinking the solution to this is gift cards. Exchanging gift cards is quite dumb and tacky. Both parties may as well just keep their money in this instance as well.

In my mind Christmas and Birthday's should simply be a day to spend with those you care about, not presents. So what are your thoughts ATRL? Am I justified in my thinking or am I just a scrooge?

Oh yeah, I definitely hate when someone is so nice that they give you something that you'd like and maybe even wanted/needed for a while. I always think they're such a try-hard bitch, just attempting to make me say thank you and give them the time of day. Like, who do they think they are?!

I like giving more than receiving, though.

People who complain about getting free things from the people who care about them clearly don't have any actual problems.

At this point in my life I have everything I need and if I want something I will get it for myself.

That's just it though. These same people who give me gifts complain about having money problems. Well heres a thought... Stop wasting your money on me when I specifically tell you not to.

Why I love receiving GIFTS! I don't see anything bad about it. Just be grateful! If people give you presents... they actually care about you.

Be grateful for what you have and stop complaining.
