Beyonce: My father taught me much, I started my own company
Quote:
I started my own company. My father taught me so so much. So much.
When I decided to manage myself it was important that I didn't go to some
big managment company. I felt like I wanted to follow the footsteps of
Madonna and be powerhouse and have my own empire.
And show other woman when you get at this point in your career,
you don't have to go sign with someone else and share your money and success.
Do it yourself. I said to so many people that I wanted to do an visual album and they
were like oh, ok. But I did it. And with my own company. And I'm very proud of that.
Of course I wanted people to love it. I wanted critics to love it. I wanted it to be successful.
But my goal was not picking up a #1 single. My goal was putting together a body
of work.
(At the album release day) I had glass of wine. And my cousin Angie was girl are you alright? Cause I was talking to myself.
Because I was terrified. I was so scared.
And I already envision like the worst things
that could happen.
I'm like people ae going to hate it. It's just the things we all go
through. It's just human. I saw it live on iTunes.
And you know, you're just waiting for the first comment.
And the next morning I was just so...(happy)
I am so happy for her; I can't imagine how hard she was working while doing most of this on tour. She gives us so much and to think most of us spent all this year mad AF at her. The wait was soooo worth this. King.
Beyoncé is doing an amazing job managing herself. I was wrong about her and I'm so glad that I was. Truly a role model for all women in the industry. A role model period.
