That's where I thought. I don't live far from you and
everything here says "Happy Holidays" on it. My moms work has a contest every year where the children of the employees draw Christmas cards and then the "best" one gets copied & given out to all the employees. Back when I was a kid they use to just put "Merry Christmas" but they recently changed it to "Happy Holidays" and any cards that said MC (or anything religious) was automatically DQ'd and she works for a fairly big company too. (Reinharts L.L.C.) My uncle works in Toronto doing government landscaping and I know he has to say Happy Holidays too.
To me it just seems right. I can't imagine being in a world where most people were Jewish and everyone was saying "Happy Hanukkah" to me. Really, it's just a nice way to avoid a potentially awkward situation. It's not like people are trying to take away Christmas, they just want us to be more cautious of others outlooks and practices.
This isn't a direct reply to Raphy but:
It's kinda funny how when Jehovah's Witnesses' do certain things people cry "STOP SHOVING YOUR RELIGION DOWN MY THROAT" but when Christians go around caroling and singing "O Little Town of Bethlehem" it's just tradition and everyone should follow suit. dno makes some people seem hypocritical and full of themselves.
