She kept saying "no you didn't [just say that to test me]" and telling me it was okay that I was gay but I kept persisting. On a more serious note, I don't know why I'm so scared of coming out. When I was "out" to her for those 2/3 days I felt so uncomfortable and dirty. It's actually a really big struggle for me. It's one of the main reasons I refuse to get romantically attached to anyone and keep to myself. I'm terrified of being forced to tell my family.

Everybody who knows me knows the truth I shout it from the top of my lungs. It's like these bamas down here are nothing but crack heads and drug dealers who are they to judge me. I would be werid for me not to tell anyone they can't to anything to me cause I know how to do those Lily and Zafina moves from Tekken. I'm Bouty Bouty I would dare these fools to try me.

I do have to say that my being more or less out has a lot to do with where I grew up. 17 is an early age for some, and I'm one of only two people in my class to be out. All the people in our generation are extremely accepting where I am, and I'm quite thankful for that. The older generation is not always as accepting - specifically my grandparents - so I prefer to not be vocal about it with adult so that my grandparents don't know, but to my general age group, I'm fully out.

It makes me sad to read all these posts from people who are afraid to tell their families. I guess I was just lucky that my parents have always been so open-minded. Actually, my dad tought me the facts of life when I was 5 years old and even explained to me how gay people have sex and that it should not be treated differently to heterosexuality. So I was able to fully unfold myself and become the person I wanted to be.

All I can say is that if your parents don't love you anymore just because you're gay, they never really did, and as sad as it sounds you probably have to leave them behind to grow as an individual and be happy. It's one of the worst feelings to be surrounded by people that don't love you the way you are and you deserve better than this. Because there's NOTHING wrong with you and the way you are. There's something wrong with the world and its ****ed up system.

I believe it when you say it felt weird for a few days. It was like that with my mom, too, but it's just something that needs to settle in, honestly.

The more you do it, the more you realize people don't really give a ****. (This is especially evident around friends and younger people, in my experiences.) And if they do give a ****, then forget about them!

I started coming out to people as I was turning 20 (this year) and I am out now. Not EVERYONE knows cause it's not everybody's business but most people know now, and I've no problem with saying that I am anymore.

No. I am out to everyone apart from my family. Just not ready for that yet

Also i might add, anyone scared of coming out: My parents are old school as ****.. My dad is covered in tattoos and rides motorbikes with all his friends.. basically a bikey. When he found out he said to me " What you do is your business, what you do in your private time doesn't concern me, i don't mind and anyone who DOES mind has insecurities of there own" and its the truest thing ever. ANYONE who judges you of being something they are not are horrible people, they are not worth your time, even if it is your parents. And trust me when i say this; your parents 80% of the time will not mind, they might be shocked, or a little disapoiinted if you are there only child, but alot of the time they move on and accept it (Just like you will some day accept it)

Being gay is nothing to be ashamed of, its completely normal! There are gay animals, dogs, horses, everything!
