It all really depends tbh. People don't really have uses for a CD anymore. Unless you really like the artist, you'll go buy the CD in support.

Otherwise, people just want the music on their computer, iPod or phone, which they can easily connect to in the car or a dock.

They should be a lot cheaper though. So should physical copies.

For me physical CDs are a waste. I have them and only use them to download the music. After that I never touch them again. They seem to take up space actually.

Kinda, I really hate buying digital unless it's way cheaper to do so (which is rarely). I'd rather own the physical CD because:

1. You feel like you're getting more bang for your buck
2. They can be ripped to your computer at a higher quality than most digital stores provide anyway

Nah. You can burn it to a CD if you have a need for an album for your car or an event or something. It's more physical CD's that are a convenience to consumers, with their prettier packaging and lossless quality songs if you're into that sort of thing. However, for the digital albums market to truly be "useful" to the industry, things need to stay album only.
