That was campy brilliance of the highest caliber. I'm so shocked how well it turned out. After being consistently underwhelmed by every single DWYW performance so far, I was definitely not expecting this one to be any better tbh. In fact, with the addition of Xtina, I was expecting a whole lot of vocal over-singing to ruin the song for me, but I was so wrong.
Everything about this screamed pure diva camp. From the Dynasty stylings to the champagne outro, they were both serving interplanetary disco glamour and I lived for every moment of it.
Xtina was gorgeous and really suited the song and the performance well with Gaga. I'm also glad Gaga nixed the forced choreography and just allowed herself to focus on the vocal delivery.
The little banter at the end made me smile. I don't know how y'all can try to project drama and shade and nastiness onto a moment like that.
