It dragged the other pop girls but I agree, Bey did it effortlessly and without rubbing in our faces as Gaga seemed to do it.

So true.
Beyonce has not uttered one word since the album dropped.
Not one tweet to download, or click youtube links, or any social media fight(s) with bloggers or industry counterparts.
Her last instagram post is about her getting back to business on the MCS tour.
Try as you might to hate, but you cannot. True art just exists.

I agree. Beyoncé truly is the best female artist out there, wonder how it must feel to be the only talented and successful black girl of the decade.

But...
The way it was released to the public, the visuals to match the songs, the sexuality, the feminism and the role as a wife and now mother, while not compromising who she is, while simultaneously evolving, is to be commended.
The sales are proof of the hard work put into this project.
When have you ever seen another recording artist unveil a project with this type of feeling and execution?
This is her artistic statement and it connected. Strongly.

Let's put it like this. Beyonce doesn't just make albums anymore, she makes cultural moments. People will remember this Beyonce commotion for years to come. It solidified her legacy in the digital age that we're in.

ARTPOP is mentioned time and time again. Honestly if it were a really strong album, it would have done so well! She can still pull something HUGE off. Rooting for you, Gaga.

Miley Cyrus’ whole shtick was: “LOOK AT ME ACT BLACK, AIN’T I COOL? NOW LOOK AT ME DO SOMETHING THAT MADONNA AND JANET DID 20 YEARS AGO AND BETTER. AIN’T I CONTROVERSIAL Y’ALL?”

Tell it.

Beyonce didn't attempt, or deliver, Gaga's concept of ARTPOP.
Not to say she did it perfectly, but it was clearly coming at things from a different angle than "make pretty music videos for every song".

"Beyoncé" is what ARTPOP should have been. (Not in genre, but in concept).

No, this site is a blog. Clutch is a digital magazine with journalists on the payroll and writers and editorials, etc., on par with Jezebel and XOJane but with black women in mind. A lot of writers that I originally checked for on Clutch have moved on to other outlets, but every now and again, there will be something worth reading there.
