I like Beyonce but you guys are so overreacting. She is selling only because of the hype. Why do you think she didnt release a single before the album? She was scared that she might have flopped. Just wait for the second and third week. Her sales are frontloaded like Born This Ways. Right now she is basically selling 40% of her total sales this era. Her singles will flop. The music is bad
Not for Beyonce, she has always sold more physical I believe.
She has. I bet her sales for this week are gonna be around 400k (full week, 3 days of physical) and then 300k the following (lead up to xmas + gift cards iTunes).
Pretty much every major artist sells more physical copies than digital.
This is the general rule. For this specific Beyoncé album I think it will be different because the "only digital" thing is what made it so attractive to people. It's a great deal 31 items for 15 dollars, why wouldn't you buy it?
It's kinda sad how big of a success ARTPOP would've been if it was released in 2010/11
All the indie smashes in the past year and the one before should've shown her indie music is the new wave
