WANNABES · #146 - 150
So close, yet so far.
150 · JOHN NEWMAN · Love Me Again
2 Weeks · Peak @ 15 "I need to know now, know now, can you love me again?" ♫
British soul newbie John Newman kicks off the list with his debut single "Love Me Again". I am not a huge fan of the song, but the hooks are extremely catchy and memorable. This is Newman's sole entry on the list.
PSY · Gentleman · 149
2 Weeks · Peak @ 07 "Gonna make you sweat. Gonna make you wet. You know who I am!" ♫
"Gangnam Style" was extremely annoying but this one was surprisingly cool and catchy. Nevertheless, it is still deemed as one of this year's guilty pleasure. Moreover, the video was so much fun.
148 · LADY ANTEBELLUM · Downtown
1 Week · Peak @ 18 "I don't know why you don't take me down town like you got anywhere better to be." ♫
Country group Lady Antebellum returns on the yearend list with "Downtown". Though it might not par with the greatness of "Need You Now", the song's chorus is undeniably catchy. The verses are forgettable though.
IMAGINE DRAGONS · Radioactive · 147
did not chart "I'm waking up, I feel it in my bones. Enough to make my systems blow. Welcome to the new age, to the new age." ♫
I'm really not much into alternative and I admit this song took me a while to appreciate. Thanks to a friend who kept on singing this track while we were on a mall. There's still one ID song hanging on.
146 · JAY-Z f/ JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE · Holy Grail
4 Weeks · Peak @ 09 One day you're here, one day you're there, one day you care, you're so unfair." ♫
"'03 Bonnie & Clyde" was the last Jay-Z hit I loved. A decade after, here comes Mr. Carter with a surefire collab opposite JT. I admit, the rap verses aren't to die for. I'm only here for JT's epic hooks.
