The Create a Label Chart: Week One
Featuring the comeback of many artists, the charting week for December 7-December 13th is officially over. Many artists returned, a miracle in the eyes of the music-listening community.
Ranging from pop-laced urban songs, such as the smash collaboration between Céline Dion and Barbara Streisand (Under the name "Ratchette"), to the indie rock song by band Bastille ("Maybe It's Alright"), there was a sharp incline of music this week, satisfying practically every genre lover and music fanatic out there.

The Hits
1. Justin Bieber - "I Feel It (Holiday Spirit)
530,000 copies sold
Pop artist Justin Bieber recently released a dance-tinged, pop-urban song for Christmas, a nice change on the usual ballads and bubblegum-esque songs you hear for Christmas. The song, which has sold 530,000 copies so far, has been titled "A new Christmas classic" by many reviewers, who praise its new style for contemporary Christmas music.
Shockingly, most of the song's sales seem to come from the Dance chart, where it charted at #1, while it seems to chart at #3 on both the Pop and Urban charts.
2. Christina Aguilera - "Freedom"
500,000 copies sold
Marking a comeback for Christina after two failed attempts, "Freedom", a powerful pop-dance song, seems to be one of few pop songs actually charting this week. Despite her previous success, her last two efforts fell flat on the general public. However, with this new song already selling 470,000 copies, could she be coming back?
The song also charted as #1 in Pop songs and #2 in Dance.
3. Taylor Swift - "Moonlight"
470,000 copies sold
Known for her heartbreaking anthems and musically emotional rants, Taylor Swift's new single "Moonlight" moved 470,000 copies this week, bringing her right up to the #3 spot. Knowing her previous charting positions in the past, is this the beginning of a long-lasting hit?
"Moonlight" also charted at #2 in the Pop Songs chart and #1 in Rock Songs.
4. Céline Dion and Barbara Streisand - "Ratchette"
440,000 copies sold
Pop icon Céline Dion decided to change things up this time around, not doing a Christmas-related song, but not sticking to a default pop, rock or dance tune. Her new song, which features the other music industry queen, Barbara Streisand, hits right on urban markings, making a deep, possibly career-changing, impact on both of their careers.
The song has also charted on Pop and Urban charts, at #4 and #1, respectively.
5. Neon Hitch - "Dolla Dolla"
320,000 copies sold
A new, strictly-urban song by singer Neon Hitch dropped this week, coming up to #5 yet only managing to sell 320,000 copies, a full 120,000 decline from the song charting above it. The artist has been rumored to release an album, and it is unknown if this could be the lead single of it.
"Dolla Dolla" has also charted at #2 in Urban Songs.
6. Britney Spears - "All Eyes On Me"
290,000 copies sold
Britney Spears released a new single, "All Eyes On Me" (recalling her old single "Circus"), which has taken the world by storm, gaining plenty of streaming publicity through a practically-viral video. Unfortunately, streaming doesn't result in higher sales. The single pushed 290,000 copies, landing right at #6.
The song also charted at #3 on the Dance charts.
7. Bastille - "Maybe It's Alright"
270,000 copies sold
Alongside Taylor Swift's "Moonlight", "Maybe It's Alright" is the second rock-influenced song charting this week. The single managed to sell 270,000 copies, only 20,000 behind pop singer Britney Spears' latest single.
The single also charted on the Pop, Rock and Indie charts at #5, #2 and #1, respectively.

The Albums
1. Justin Bieber - 'Christmas Weekend'
490,000 copies sold
Surprisingly, only for a Christmas album, Justin Bieber's latest release, 'Christmas Weekend', took the charts by storm this week, moving almost 500,000 copies sold. The album, which was mostly fuelled by the success of its lead single ("I Feel It"), landed at #1 this week after a tough week of mass promotion. Could the album spawn more hit singles such as "I Feel It", or is this it for Justin's charting life?
After a heavily-promoted top three, will Justin Bieber continue this success? Will Christina Aguilera continue her comeback with an album? And finally, will Taylor Swift's single rise up to #1?
