Beyonce in 2013: Super Bowl, vogue US cover, Vogue UK, GQ cover, world tour , Most searched woman on the internet, 50 million dollar deals, 17th Grammy, Hit movie, Documentary, broke twitter records, H&M deal, was @ the met gala, gained 30% more IG followers, her fan base, WW played pepsi & H&M commercial with her music snippet, 2014 calendar + her 2013 music snippet etc all those things where leading to this moment - unexpected album release named Beyonce.
Remember when people were asking why she did all those things and didn't put out new music?...well now you know why. Beyonce played a VERY risky promo tactics card and she pulled off because she's talented.

What do any of those things have to do with promoting her 5th album?

So she booked the Super Bowl just to promote a nonexistent album??lol Everything you just named is what an artist with 15yrs in the game, talent and her work ethic should be doing. She was just doing what Beyoncé has been doing since she came on the scene that's not promoting an album.
Your fanbase will always be there to buy your album, the point of promotion ie Oprah, Ellen, Today's Show, radio interviews, Walmart & Target Best Buy commercials etc is to make the General Public aware that you have an album coming out and promotion is to release a single ahead of the album. That's why this albums release out of the blue is NOT promotion, its a risk to drop an album out of the blue without making the usual promotional rounds that I mentioned ie Oprah Walmart etc.

There were articles after articles about people talking about the release from Ne-Yo to her record label. There was a mix-up November 19th at FYE. There were songs like "Rocket Till Water Falls" registered on ASCAP. People knew she was shooting a video album after she continued shooting videos for months. Before the SuperBowl it was rumored she was releasing two songs, one called "Rollercoaster ft. Miguel" and another I can't remember. Are you really trying to tell me her fanbase had no idea she had an album coming out? I knew all of this just from being in Celebria, so this idea that nobody knew she was planning on releasing isn't true.
Talking about your album is not nearly as important as performing music. Is "Grown Woman" on her CD at all? Not even a video of it or anything?

See the above post, none of this is relevant to Beyoncé promoting doing talk shows and commercials discussing her album. Bey's mouth is zipped, she just dropped an album and went about her day. What's so hard to understand, that she didn't promote? The seething and playing dumb gig is up girls.
