Edit: It's on A&E. Isn't that a cable network? Kelly's is on NBC, so shouldn't she get far more viewers?
we will be lucky if we get half of what the ducks get.
Don't they usually rack in about 8 million views. Let alone with this being their Xmas special...
From HDD:
It doesn't look like any of this week's new releases will debut at #1, though we're duty-bound to say that R. Kelly's Black Panties has one of our favorite titles ever. For now, Garth Brooks seems most likely to repeat and with a total that appears to be north of 150k. Tonight, however, Kelly Clarkson and Duck Dynasty’s The Robertsons go head to head with Christmas specials. Will either of these deliver enough sales to push their respective holiday sets to the top? Who will finish with the season’s best-selling holiday album? To date, The Robertsons have nearly a 70k lead over Clarkson. Will tonight's specials tighten or widen that gap? Here are this week's key debuts:
And here's Billboard:
The current chart champ, Garth Brooks' "Blame It All On My Roots: Five Decade of Influences," might hold atop the list. There's a small chance that Kelly Clarkson's "Wrapped In Red" could skip to the top as well.
I always thought cable networks did really poorly compared to national networks
That is usually true, but Duck Dynasty has been one of the top rated programs on both cable and broadcast, and NBC is basically the Gretchen Weiners of the big 4 national networks, only worse.
American Idol champ-turned-Grammy winner Kelly Clarkson, who won raves for her stint on CBS’ The Crazy Ones earlier this season, is set to guest-star in an episode of Nashville, TVLine has learned exclusively.
“As you recall, one of the most popular songs of last season is a song that Gunnar and Scarlett wrote – ‘Fade Into You,’ showrunner Dee Johnson tells TVLine. “And in fact, in real life, [Clarkson is] actually cutting that song.”
Look for Clarkson to show up in the ABC series’ Episode 11, which will air in January.
