Avril Lavigne is the best album of the year followed by Modern Vampires of the City. I like Paramore's self titled album but it's their weakest album to date.
I think K-Pop has a lot of variety as well but most western fans of Asian pop like the music that's more easily digested, so the very catchy stuff and the dance pop. So that gets shared on forums like these and that's what non-fans see.
J-Pop's reputation as more diverse is mostly because of Utada, K-Pop doesn't have a brilliant, creative, amazing genius artist like her.
And J-pop isn't as liked simply because it isn't as accessible.
Not when greedy Japanese labels practically force western listeners to watch the videos on ******* sites.
