Eh, there was a chance. The Chargers still are the most complete team in the league, after all. I think that the way they won was the most surprising part.

Well, you're picking against a team that, uh, hasn't lost a game yet. Yeah, I know, the Giants came closest to beating them, and, obviously, they know the Patriots better than any other team because of this, but the Patriots are *angry*. Angry at the media and the fans for constantly making jokes at their expense, angry at the Giants for making their last game so close, and angry that people actually chose Jacksonville(JACKSONVILLE!!!) to beat them in the Divisional round. Plus, people keep bringing up the Dolphins and their undefeated season, always pointing out, "Yeah, but you still have to win the Super Bowl for it all to matter." Do you really think that this DOESN'T add fuel to the fire?

Personally, I think we'll see a similar game in the Super Bowl, with the same result as the last game. Pats 28, Giants 21. And the greatest season in NFL history will be completed.

I was about to pick option #2 (literally seconds away), then I thought better of it and picked option #3, "The Rock Hop". It starts Saturday so get excited...or not like usual.

Well when you pick division and playoff winners at the beginning of the season, you are usually never right in most cases. It holds true here. These were some of my "highlights" and "lowlights" from my picks and other people who picked with me.

Me:
Lowlight #1: I picked a Denver vs.Chicago superbowl. Neither team even made the playoffs.
Lowlight #2: I had New Orleans in the conference championship. They also didn't make the playoffs.
Lowlight #3: I had the Rams making the playoffs who ended up being the laughing stock of the league.
Highlight #1: I did pick Dallas and the NY Giants to make the playoffs and in their proper positions.
Lowlight #4: I picked Baltimore and Cincinatti to make the playoffs from the AFC North when in fact they both were absolutely terrible this year.
Highlight #2/Lowlight #5: I did pick the Pats to win the division but did not have them anywhere near perfect or in the superbowl.
Highlight #3: Well at least I was right when I said Oakland and Atlanta would suck.
Lowlight #6: Only 1 of my 4 teams picked to play in the conference championship even made the playoffs (Colts).

Ryan's picks on the other hand weren't a heck of a lot better than mine...
He picked 3 of the 4 division winners from the AFC (although he did pick the terrible Ravens as well)
However he picked all the division winners from the NFC wrong, which included when he put the word "Duh!" next to his pick of the Bears to win the NFC North.
Also you can't forget the classic line "No one can beat New Orleans in the Superdome NO ONE"
Not to mention the 49ers would be the breakout team and actually win the division.
To his credit, he did pick the AFC championship game exactly right, which makes his picks better than mine on that alone.
Still has the Pats to win the superbowl (which they won't)

musik_freek's picks were fairly disastrous as well. He had no one right for the conference championships and had Chicago winning the superbowl.

JGibson had the Rams winning the superbowl

So in the end, everyone who picked had one thing in common, we all sucked at it

Even with my NFC picks sucking the big one, I still have my choice for SB champions alive and running, which is more than you can say.

Really, how the hell was I supposed to know that the Bears weren't going to win the NFC North?

As for the Saints, I meant in the playoffs, not in general. Of course, they didn't even make it that far.

Firstly, my new vote based countdown ("The Rock Hop") which was originally scheduled to start today will be postponed indefintely (but will happen eventually) due to school starting this Monday.

Wow I can't believe I'm already about to start my 6th semester at college. I've already been out of high school for 2 1/2 years and have gotten 75 credits in college already yet it feels like yesterday when I was in high school. My classes this semester include...

Microeconomics
Advanced Financial Accounting (accounting is my major for the record)
Investments and Securities
Income Taxation

And a stupid required class on "The Development of the Silk Road". You know the class is going to be hard when the professor sends an e-mail with the syllabus 2 weeks in advance of the class. I read it and I'm like "A 10 page research paper????????Is the professor [expletive] stupid????? This is a [expletive] required class. I'm not [expletive] taking this because I'm really interested or that I'm a [expletive] English major or some [expletive x2] like that."
No joke, that really is similar to what I said to myself.

Oh well at least I'm almost done with the stupid required classes. All I have left is a class on music history to take next semester. Everything else for the next two semesters to follow will be for my major.

I will likely have to cut down (at least a little bit) my ATRL time during the semester like I usually do. But I still will be on almost every day (maybe except for Monday when I'm in school till 6:30).
