Rihanna- #1
Quote:
(2012 Rank: 2) Last year we spoke about how surprised we were that Rihanna hadn't taken the crown of The Most Popular Woman According To Google, but it seems as though she's finally gone ahead and earned that title.
RiRi had a huge ending to 2012 that included a performance at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, a cover appearance on GQ and a 25th birthday.
But all that pales in comparison to the release of her seventh studio album Unapologetic which debuted on the Billboard 200 and placed her in the company of Madonna and The Supremes as an artist with the 4th number of #1 singles in the chart's history. When you're in the company of Madonna and The Supremes for just your music, you know that you're popular.
But of course, it's never been "just" about the music to Rihanna. She's without a doubt one of the more polarizing artists in music today. But you know the old saying, "there's no such thing as bad publicity." So whether we're talking about her love for agriculture or her on-again/off-again romance with Chris Brown, we're sure that she appreciates the attention. Another thing we can be sure of is that she'll continue shining bright like a diamond in 2014.

#2 Lana Del Rey
#3 MIA
#4 Lady Gaga
Quote:
2012 Rank: 4) We didn't really find ourselves talking about Lady Gaga a lot in 2013, but she still managed to keep her spot as the #4 most popular woman. If her album Art Pop had more attention than her butt did at the MTV VMAs, there's a good chance that she could have moved up a rank or two.

#5 Cher
#6 Katy Perry
Quote:
(2012 Rank: 10) Everyone's favorite stacked pop star Katy Perry enjoyed an extremely successful year in 2013, despite playing backseat to Miley Cyrus and her antics. Not only did she release her fourth studio album Prism, she made buckets of dough off of her third fragrance "Killer Queen."
Oh yeah, there's also the fact that she became the #1 most followed celebrity on Twitter.

#7 Taylor Swift
#8 Miley Cyrus
Quote:
(2012 Rank: 17) How Miley Cyrus only ended up as #8 on this list is beyond me. There was absolutely a period of a week or two where COED alone was posting at least two stories on her a day. In retrospect I wish we could have a few of those back, but that just speaks to how popular Miley became in 2013.
Where should we start? The release of Bangerz? Her obsession with Twerking? Our obsession with her obsession of tweaking? Her topless photos she shot with Terry Richardson? I mean, the opportunities to talk about her are endless.
I'm adding more, hold on a bit

#9 Britney Spears
#10 Madonna
#11 Selena Gomez
Quote:
(2012 Rank: 16) Like we expected, Spring Breakers was the hit that Selena needed to move away from her Disney goody-two-shoes image. Now she's doing all sorts of movies, from starring in Getaway with Ethan Hawke and Jon Voight (which honestly looked terrible) to preparing for her role in Behaving Badly.
It seems like right now she's leaving her musical career on the back burner. Nowhere on the planet are men upset.

#12 Adele
#13 Beyonce
Quote:
Beyonce might be the #1 most Bing'd person on the web, but that doesn't even put her in the Top 10 when it comes to Google. The "hottest chick in the game" actually even lost a step (if that's at all possible)--she was #12 last year.
She's still making a killing in real life, though, as she's nearly finished with her 100-stop tour aptly titled "The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour." And who could forget her Super Bowl Halftime show?

#14 Kim Kardashian
#15 Honey Boo Boo
Quote:
(2012 Rank: 18) What started off as an awful idea for a reality show (Toddler and Tiaras) actually gave birth to an even worse spin off. It's hard to dislike a little girl who has her own show but I can't help but feel a little disdain for her messed up parents (even though they're doing right by her by saving all her money).

#16 Christina Aguilera
#17 Nicki Minaj
#18 Jennifer Lopez
#19 Avril Lavigne
#20 Mariah Carey
Quote:
(2012 Rank: 25) Mariah's like clockwork, you can be sure that the pop star is going to be high on this list. Other than the fact that she was responsible for one of our guiltiest aural pleasures "#Beautiful" with Miguel, her new album The Art of Letting Go wasn't really much to write home about.
Still, most men would tell you that they'd be incredibly content if their wives looked like Mariah at the age of 43.
