Yep, Madonna is certified for 64,5m albums in the USA, Mariah for 63,5m and Barbra Streisand for over 70m. Those are the female trinity of the United States. <3 Whitney and Celine as much as the three above are also highly under-certified. All of them shipped over 100m records across formats in the United States (the majority being albums sales). That's the huge difference between the old legends and the new ones.

Who cares, she' still popular worldwide, selling more than your fave. And, yes, she had less time for that. Like, taking these two, it's eligible to compare sales of albums released approximately at the same time (like, B'Day or Sasha Fierce to GGGB and 4 to Talk That Talk). Then it's definitely not such a gap you wish to see.
