I'd link to one of the pieces that tries to color it as racist but I really don't feel like rewarding these people with pageviews.

Here's what these pieces essentially boil down to: pretty much everything Lorde attempts to lambast in the song are Hip-Hop/R&B signifiers, which I guess in some people's minds is a genre only meant for and made by black people.

I hate "Royals" and I think the song is incredibly pretentious but no. Just no.
