I see what you are saying and its a valid point. This is my perspective on this:
Friendship between two people is about enjoying each other(pleasure), not to make each other happy. It is about receiving, giving, being social, talk etc. We do need to be social with others, its a part of human nature but by expecting your friend to make you happy is bound to fail. You are putting a burden on yourself and your friend.
Find happiness within yourself and enjoy your relationships.
