The legend Lily Allen took to Twitter to express her disgust over The GRAMMYS's snubbing Lorde of a Best New Artist nomination, and over the injustice of Ed Sheeran's nomination, even though he is not a new artist and by most accounts is completely ineligible.
I do think Lorde should have been nominated for best new artist but I don't feel too bad for her because she was nominated under other category's. Plus watch her win best new artist in 2015 Grammys lol

I prefer her to win Song of the year or Pop Solo this year tbh
You never know which will be the competition next year.
It also will be weird to see her scoring a Best New Artist nomination a year after she scored Song and Record of the year nominations, just like it's to weird that Ed Sheeran Best New Artist nomination after scoring a Song of the year nomination last year

I do think what that guy said is correct. The reason she didn't get the nom is mostly because they don't want to give her the award if it may be that Royals is her biggest hit. It will just mean she'll continue going down from thereon. It would've been better if had a moderate hit+moderate follow ups+acclaim. I do think it also would've helped if she had already got another hit after Royals before they made their votes so that she could seem more "solid". And Lily not getting why Ed is nominated for BNA just means she should just read up on the rules for the category and get over it .......

She can't be nominated for BNA if she wins in 2014 ...I think it says someting to that extent in the new rules.

Ed Sheeran didn't even release an album within the 2014 Grammys eligibility period. It's a massive crock of **** that he's nominated.
They are using the Lady Gaga rule the wrong way tbh
It should be used only when the artist got nominations and his/her first studio still isn't elegible because it was released after the deadline.
For example when Drake got a rap nomination before the release of his first studio album and then he got his Best New Artist nomination a year later after the release of his first studio album.
However Ed was elegible for Best New Artist last year and he missed that nomination.

Ow I didn't know that his album was outside of the period for eligibility. Maybe their nominating him for his work on taylor's album . Hopefully she'll win in the categories she's nominated for though ....
