It has a narrative, yes. It's more that I expected a more traditional style narrative, as opposed to this more experimental style of storytelling. I always love Lana's monologues, but overall it just seemed a little messy.
And there have been other artists who've done shirt films for their music videos. Kanye West and JT's What Goes Around come to mind.
It's a beautiful film, I liked it as a Lana fan. Just a little hyped tbh. And ima still need a Tropico 2 or some more music videos cuz I can't @ her paying dust to 2 of the best songs on the album.

I don't know of we can really compare Lana's work to Kanye's or JT's, I mean they both had amazing videos with WCAGA and Kanye's Short film but JT's was more like a little love story?
and Kanye's was more like a preview to the album? like previewing all the songs from the album!
whilst Lana kind of told a story of life, the beginning of time, the loss of innocence and then getting back to heaven, there were no monologues this time, she just spoke/told the poems which kind of were inspiration to her songs
Body Electric/I Sing The Body Electric etc.
and as for the 2 songs I totally agree, American and Cola

should have gotten videos and I think both can fit into 1 music video they can fit!
