Then why do DVD's sell? It's more to that than just the price. If people can afford 18 to 21 bucks for a DVD why not 9 bucks for a stupid CD?

I think it is the other way around. Downloading is just part of our society. It's harder to download movies than to download music. If downloading movies was easy and didn't take up a lot of GB/storage, I'm sure DVD's would decline as well.

In other words, blame iPod's and iTunes. Oh and all the illegal downloader software "Napster" and "Limewire"

There is a technique to buying DVDs. They are released in movie theaters. You get to watch the WHOLE package for like 6 to 7 bucks. And if you like it or don't like it you can either buy it or not for 20 bucks when it comes out.

But with CDs it's diff. You hear one, maybe two singles from a normal 12 track listing CD for like 9 bucks. But there isnt a way to fix that problem. You can't go to a "preview the whole album" for like 3 bucks and then when it's released you can buy it for 9 bucks or not.

DVD's sell because there are more to DVD's than CD's. DVD's are a visual experience. People would rather have a visual experience than an audio one. It has been that way since television was first invented many years ago. Napster is not illegal anymore by the way. They used to offer illegal music but they don't anymore. For the record, it is pretty easy to download movies but it does take up a lot of space like you said.

That makes sense. The visual experience besides the audio one. Most people don't want to get bored by just sitting her listening to music, when you could be watching something instead.

DVDs aren't that easily pirated by the common people. They're big files and you gotta know how to download them and play them. Quite a task for the majority of internet users.

It's definitely plausible. Most reggeaeton artists sell their cds at half the regular price and they're still living the good life. Why can't non-reggaeton artists pick up this trend?

Is it worth it? I mean, for the labels and artists and producers and everyone involved in the production of an album to sell it for such a low price?
Unless the album sells at least 5 million copies... but I doubt it :-/
