Paul Walker bought engagement ring for struggling couple
Paul Walker secretly purchased an engagement ring for a struggling military couple in 2004, reported US Weekly on Dec. 4. According to the original CBS story, Walker learned of the groom-to-be’s impending redeployment to Iraq, and decided to buy the pair the ring set they had coveted earlier in the jewelry store.
The couple, Kyle and Kristen Upham, were shopping for that special ring. Unfortunately, they were finding all of the jewelry out of their budget. Kristen fell in love with a particular ring, but was disappointed to see it had an almost $10,000 price tag. Kyle recognized Walker and chatted with the actor, mentioning his upcoming deployment to Iraq.
A sales associate from the jewelry store opened up about the Paul Walker’s charity, stating that the actor did not want the couple to know of his actions. Kyle and Kristen only learned of Walker’s deed after he tragically died in a horrific car accident in Los Angeles on Saturday, Nov. 30.
He called the manager and he said, ‘Umm, the ring that those people are looking at – put it on my tab,’” the sales associate confessed about Walker.
Now that is true selflessness. What an amazing character he had, imagine how good this world would be if we could all be so kind and giving to each other. Incredible...
