Woman accidentally live tweets husband's death. :-(
Quote:
Avid news watcher, Caran Johnson, inadvertantly live tweeted the car accident that took her husband's life in Vancouver, Washington, yesterday.
This tragic tale began when Caran saw the local newspaper, The Columbian, tweeting about a head-on collision that had just occurred. "This accident sounds horrible," she tweeted from her Twitter handle @ScanCouver.
But when the newspaper confirmed about 15 minutes later that one person had died in the crash, Caran began worrying about her husband Craig who was late coming home.
"I’m trying not to panic, but my husband left work early and he drives 205 to get home. He’s not answering his phone," she tweeted. "And he's late."
A few moments later, she tweeted again: "I just called his work and he was feeling faint when he left work #panic."
As it turns out, her husband was suffering from epilepsy, and there was a possibility he may have passed out or had a seizure on his way home.
"How long do I wait for him to come home before I call the police?" she continued.
About an hour later, Caran delivered her final - and most tragic - tweet about the entire ordeal. "It's him. He died," she wrote.
As it turns out, a fellow tweeter was on the scene of the accident and she had witnessed the incident first hand. April Sturdevant reached out to Caran in hopes of providing her with a bit of comfort.*
"@ScanCouver I was with your husband from the moment the start of the accident until his last breath, he felt no pain and he was at peace," April wrote to Caran.
This tragic incident is currently being investigated by authorities, and has struck close to home with so many Vancouver, Washington residents. The staff of The Columbian likewise tweeted their condolences to Caran, thanking her for often live tweeting their news reports along with them.

Don't get me wrong, I feel really bad for her and I'm heartbroken, but I don't understand why she tweeted about her husband's death. Like she actually make the effort to go on twitter and tweet about it? If I was in her shoes, let alone after she found out, even before, I'd be too tensed and worried to go on twitter and tweet.
EDIT: sorry if you think I'm being a bit ignorant and insensitive I just don't really get it.

She didn't know it was her husband that was involved and at first she had no reason to suspect it was, either. She was just tweeting about a tragic news item in the same way we all discuss them on this forum.

Don't think you've read the entire article yet. She tweeted about how she was worried it was her husband and then she also tweeted that it was her husband. But it doesn't matter, it was just a thought that cropped up in my mind.
