I had a gay friend named Kyle who I used to talk to on a personal level. We got to know eachother for a few months but he wanted a relationship, I didn't (no sexual contact happened), so we broke off contact. It's been a year since, and he has been HIV positive since early 2013, a mere few months after we cut it off. I took him out for pizza a few months back to catch up and he was completely joking about it, saying his ex didn't know and the boy he's doin it with now doesn't know either. I just couldn't get my mouth off the floor. He took me home after pizza and i never talked to him since. Just because he is healthy and fit and alive and looking good does not mean he can insert his penis or have a penis inserted inside of him as he pleases. I think that's the biggest misconception about HIV; if you feel and look good, it must not be affecting you. Crazy

First off, it's 2013, not 1985. I'm not advocating for bareback, but HIV isn't as scary as it used to be. It's not something most people try and get, but it's also a manageable disease these days.

But I have definitely noticed more and more men being okay with bareback. Or only doing bareback. People just need to get tested. That's the most important thing. It's more irresponsible not to know your status and have unprotected sex.

In most (or maybe even all) states, it's considered a felony to be HIV+ and lie about it to your sex partners.

Thank god I stopped hooking up with people. I was a biT of a mess. I never used a condom. Reading about all of this just makes me sick.
