This could never and would never happen. The Eurozone financial crisis of the past few years has proven that if one European country gets into trouble it has repercussions for everyone else (as we've seen with Greece and Spain in particular). There would be many, many more potential cons than pros to completely unifying all of the European states, and it's something most of the more economically stable European states would undoubtedly say no to.
