I don't think that's entirely true these days. Most people aren't just brainless consumers of music - there's a reason that entertainment publications in print and online is a steady business - people care more about pop culture than they have in the first decade of this millennium. Just because we find ourselves in a unique place like ATRL doesn't mean we're the only stan demographic out there.

I agree with this. We might be more attached to the entertainment side of things than the typical person who listens to radio, but people read up on these things now by choice, or perhaps not by choice. Celebrity entertainment is (wrongly) becoming more introduced into public news, and it of course has an effect. My friend the other day brought up Volantis because she read about and several of my Facebook friends were posting about her going to space. It's more naive to believe her popularity nowadays lives off her music more than her antics.

Exactly, that's why I'm saying it's kinda silly for Bryan to say "they just know she's on the radio" (no offence Bryan, though) when if anything, Gaga is possibly known for more things over her songs on the radio.

It doesn't have to be a bad thing though, she's still well known publicly for being a good role-model to the LGBT community. It's just sometimes I guess people can't be bothered with her, so it looks like her media perception is negative.
