And it's been almost two weeks and some are still pressed about this award.

Mainly because she has been a successful artist in the US for the last 9 years. The majority of what the Rihanna brand output is not iconic but seemly the capitalisation of certain trends, early in their lifetime before their success is fleeting, whereby helping Rihanna to propel herself to the icon status.

Despite being an icon though, her videography and majority of her discography rarely touches iconic levels of greatness or popularity.

Now the Interesting part ... Rihanna has 10M Albums sold USA and Lady Gaga has 4.5M only with The Fame .. If we add 1.8M for TFM EP and 2.3M for BTW this Is 8.6M Albums In 5 years while Rihanna needed 8 years. . . let alone that Rihanna needed 7 albums and 1 re release, while Gaga did almost the same numbers with 2 Albums and one EP (not counting ARTPOP at all)

Poker Face - 7M
Bad Romance 5.4M
Rihanna's best selling song Is We Found Love or ? It's hardly at 5.2M

And I am repeating all of that In 5 years and with 3 albums, while Rihanna needed 7 albums . . .

Now I can tell you why I agree with Rihanna winning:
The most number 1s for a recent pop star (the last 5-10 years till now)
Amazing stability, and even Increase In popularity..
A lot of collaborations most of which are super hits
And of course Rihanna Is In the business since 2005 almost 9 years ...
Of course Gaga Is not going to win an Icon award 5 years Into her career ...

Now for those that are shading Gaga's FLOP ... ARTPOP Is probably going to end up at around 3-4M WW which Is the same as 80% Of Rihanna's albums

Why the double standart .. Yall are saying Rihanna Is the queen and the next moment the standarts for Gaga are higher than for Rihanna MHM, YAS !

While Rihanna's highest point of popularity (which by the way Is lower than Gaga's) Is when Chris Brown punched her ...

And then again I already said that I agree with Rihanna winning Instead of Gaga, but you feel the need to bring Gaga down and to shade her Instead of just facing a few facts that all of you know are true . . .

Saying It again - Poker Face, Just Dance and BR are bigger than Umbrella and WFL (at least sales wise, I am not arguing about cultural Impact, I agree that Umbrella's Impact on POP Is as big as Bad Romance and Poker Face)
TheFame/Monster together has sold more than GGGB + Loud (Rihanna's 2 best selling albums) BTW alone has sold more than Unapologetic and TTT together

And let's not even talk about Gaga's tours which are the biggest Indicator of whether the public Is Interested In the ARTIST as a musician or not...

She's the undisputed queen of Youtube.
She is the undisputed queen of digital sales.
She has better, bigger, more iconic stadium stompers than GaGa. But you Koreans always did have a tendency to support the dramatics.

The hypocrisy!! If it was someone else other than Rih, then they would have supported it..because it's Rihanna, it's not important.

Ch..let the success and the continued slayage keep them pressed.

Sorry, but all these icon awards are organized by labels. There's no reason why they would just randomly give her the award, it's not like something extraordinary happened in her career recently. Some of you have a lot to learn about the music industry.

Rihanna's had a career for longer and is about ten years older. On top of that, her career has been considerably bigger.
