If it's what you want to do, then it'll probably be a great experience.
Though, living in a place like Japan can be difficult.
First off, it's better to learn a good bit of Japanese to navigate around, and just know that meeting people won't be easy there.
You might be able to befriend other 'foreigners', but the Japanese people aren't as easy to befriend.
It's just simply how they are.
Even if you aren't able to speak that much Japanese by the time you go, at least make sure you know the cultural differences.
In terms of pay, I don't think it is going to be crazy good, but it'll be enough to live there.
I know some oversea English teaching programs give you free accommodation and other benefits, so it wouldn't hurt to look into that too.
All in all, make sure you are ready to go there and make sure that this is what you want to do.
