Although I've always thought that it's a bit unfair that movie records as based on box office $$$ instead of number of tickets sold, since ticket prices obviously go up. The fact that it took 12 years to beat King Harry, even with higher ticket prices

I agree in the sense I would like to get accurate # of tickets sold (there are estimates) but at the same time it's fun to know the budget of a movie and see how it does on the box office in terms of revenue. With albums we never really know how much money the label spent on them..
