Katy use to be called solely a single artist before. Since now she's out charting, and outselling other album artists with little effort, is she 1 now?
...no. Katy has never been the type that people would talk about tracks from her album until this year with Prism (maybe because music this year is so slow so people are taking what they can get, I don't know) and imo you are an album artist if people actually listen to and talk about your albums
No shade but PRISM/ARTPOP/BANGERZ WW sales are underwhelming. I remember thinking Unapologetic wasn't doing too hot and people shading it DOWN but it was doing much better than these girls are. I can't understand why...

No. Album artists are artists that sell way more albums than singles, like Eminem. Katy doesn't have that, especially not WW. Her album debuted with less than 150k outside of the US, which is really bad for a pop star of her size with such a big hit WW. Gaga, with a lead single deemed a 'WW flop', sold 350k outside of the US first-week. If Katy was an albums artist, her single wouldn't sell 2x more than the album first-week.
