Paloma Faith’s been working with Stargate, Pharrell and Plan B on her new album, which she says is a lot less miserable than her other two.
“I’m sick of being miserable,” she moaned to – OH YOU KNOW IT – the Daily Star Playlist. “I’m in the studio now with the attitude of: ‘Screw the hard stuff, let’s dance.’ That sums up how the album is sounding.”
“I can’t wait to play the new songs live so I can see people having a good time at my concerts rather than crying at all my emotional stuff,” she added.
As for the collaborations, she’s finding working with Plan B a bit of a challenge because of how focused he is.
“Plan B is amazing and inspiring. He’s so precise and focused and so dedicated that he makes me doubt myself. I’ll think: ‘Am I really committed to my job compared to him?’ I justify it to myself by saying: ‘Well, he doesn’t spend as long as I do on artwork’.”
Fair enough. And Pharrell?
“Working with Pharrell is just a dream come true as I’ve been a fan for years.”
Interesting. Wasn't a big fan of her debut but her second album was good! I was kinda hoping/expecting Picking Up the Pieces and Just Be to pull a Rolling in the Deep and Someone Like You, but let's see if this potentially more commercial sound works in her favor.
I want to thank everyone who came to my gigs, who posted photos and artwork and everyone who has supported me so loyally . Your encouragement is invaluable . I would like to wish you all a very happy christmas and very best wishes for 2014 . I look forward to seeing you all next year with a new album and tour. I can't wait to show you all what I have been doing. It's going to be such fun for us all! But until then thank you again.
