Cheryl Cole is reportedly planning to end her self-imposed break from the public eye and is said to have been spending time in the recording studio recently.
The 30-year-old has spent most of 2013 taking a much-needed rest, however, the 'Fight For This Love' singer has reportedly returned to the studio to begin work on her fourth solo album.
"She’s recorded a bit. In the new year she will ramp it up," an insider told The Metro.
"Cheryl needed to take time off for herself. She’s never had a break. She came off her solo tour and straight into Girls Aloud’s. When that finished in March she kept under the radar."
The pal added: "She wanted time out. She’s needed this time off for her own sanity."
The former Girls Aloud singer has spent the past few months chilling with her family and resting after her break-up from long-term beau Tre Holloway and has also managed to spend time back home in Newcastle.
"Cheryl’s taken time off this year so she can have a quiet life," a source told the paper. "She spent it with her family in Newcastle and London with her family and dogs. She loves her dogs. When she’s away on tour she’s missed them and wants to spend time with them."
Cheryl has also reportedly turned down offers of work and the source claims she declined the opportunity to break into the fashion industry. "She’s been turning down work this year, including designing a fashion range for a major high street chain. She turned it down. It was a big lucrative deal," the source revealed.
