The feeling I get from this album is definitely a summer feel. It doesn’t really seem very November to release an album with tracks like “Bitchin’ Summer” and “Sippin’ on Sunshine.” It’s funny because I asked myself if this was going to just turn out to be a summer record. We were doing a lot of writing in the summer, and I wanted to have a summer song, you know, driving in the car, good feeling, good times. For about a week I was writing songs like that. But this album has “Sippin’ on Sunshine” and “Bitchin’ Summer.” And then “Rock N Roll” kind of does have summer feel to it. The record was supposed to come out earlier, but they changed the date on me three f—ing times.

That's Epic Records, they won't release albums until there are sure-fire hits. Eventually, they give up on making a hit and release the album anyways - usually to low numbers way after their hype.

Epic truly thought Avril could have a #1 worldwide smash this era, so they were going to keep trying to make that happen before the album release. They weren't grateful enough that Avril managed to even score a Top 20 hit. They should have realized that for a 12-year old artist with an outdated non-trendy image, Top 20 is all she's going to peak at. They should have released the album in June.
