On Dec 11, Time Magazine will announce its Person Of The Year, its annual year-end special issue. Editors of the magazine traditionally decide on who to give the honour to, although they put up a website poll on who readers think should receive it.
Nominees include political figures such as United States President Barack Obama and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, famous personalities such as Angelina Jolie and Jimmy Fallon. Also on the nominees list are Pakistani teenager Malala Yousafzai and National Security Agency whistleblower Edward Snowden.
The person leading the poll - believe it or not - is Miley Cyrus.
Cyrus is described on the list of nominees as "The artist formerly known as Hannah Montana got tongues wagging-beyond her own-with a scantily clad, twerk-filled performance at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards and meme-able hit videos".
Previous Person Of The Year honorees include President John F. Kennedy, former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev, and Pope John Paul II.
Voting will end on Dec 4. The winner of the polls will be announced on Dec 6.
The song is going to be in my top 3 most sucessful songs of the year
Yeah, idt she'll get it but she'll prob be in the top 5 and on the cover.
Only the person who actually claims the title ends up on the cover. Luckily this poll doesn't decide the actual victor so I highly, highly doubt she'll get it (or come anywhere close).

I was talking about the Time 100 cover which has a bunch of people on it (she was already on it in 08) and yeah i agree that she will not be the poy.
Remember when Miley's VMA performance was searched 12x more times than the war in Syria? The average American undeniably talks more about Miley than most actual world issues, so they deserve to have it thrown back in their face. This is not some noble peace prize but it is the person of 2013 and Miley has held her hype until now and had several headlines and undeniable impact so she deserves it imo.
lbr, who was more talked about? I'm not going to lie, I don't even know #3 and #4, and Snowdon was not THAT big
ikr and this is not about which politician benefited the world the most (they can win a noble prize)... this is about the person who will be most remembered when you think back to 2013 and with all the halloween costumes and the VMA's and the music videos and memes and the media coverage and everything; it's Miley.
