We have some recaps to prove how bad TRL has gotten since October 3rd, 2007.
Why has it gotten so bad since October 3rd, 2007? Firstly, MTV News fired SuChin Pak. But that wasn't the main reason that caused TRL to be worse than ever... as it was the reformatting of TRL on 10.02.2007 that was the last straw of a once-decent show that TRL was. I wish it was back in the old days also. Soulja Boy should be off, as should the other **** rap artists, such as Flo Rida and T-Pain. But it got somewhat better as far as hosting went when Lyndsey joined TRL. I actually gave the new format a one-week trial, in the hopes of reverting back to the old format. I said, after one week of the new format, enough was enough, so I started the JRL Top 20 in response to TRL's format switch. The JRL Top 20's intent was primarly to be a Pop/AC/Rock/R&B countdown, a la VSPOT Top 20/Fuse/15Rock (my personal c/d), with very little Rap/Hip-Hop in the c/d.
State of TRL: Sep. 1998-Oct.3rd, 2007 (Great)
Oct.4th-18th, 2007: (OK)
Oct.22, 2007-: (Bad, but it had a few bright spots as well.)
Here are the recaps that proved TRL was going downhillRecap from 10/03/2007 (The last 100% great day of TRL)

Oh another bad thing about this format is that they have the stats wrong. They said Paramore's "Crushcrushcrush" was #4 on Mainstream Radio, and Rihanna #1! I mean seriously. Even "Misery Business" hasn't been #4 yet. Though I do agree Rihana will be a future #1 on pop.

At least the ones from above had the votes counted this time it doesn't even matter anymore. You know what perhaps this has to with that Writers strike lol because maybe they had the writers count the votes and they got sick of doing it because they didn't get a huge raise like they wanted so they said screw TRL until this strike is over with you guys will just have to run it the way you want it to you guys can either count the votes yourself or start a ridiculous format. Maybe that's what happened imagine these stories I make up sometimes

That's not technically hip hop. Flo Rida could be hip hop though. Soulja Boy is a form of hip hop called snap music. And sadly some people want Britney Spears dead hopefully they're not one of them though. I still hate TMZ for that article last night about preparin for her obiutary just in case. It's pretty much all sad. Piece of Me deserves to be #1 on TRL since it has the most votes but thanks to the format there ain't no more huge movement in TRL

I actually think Rapisalive is right. Ever since the writer's strike, TRL has gone downhill.
The D-Man should still be fired, just because he's an idiot.

No he is not. Do you really think the writers count the votes as he said? Oh and by the way, this started before the writers strike anyway. The is a zero connection here. There can't be one, it wouldn't make any sense at all.

I'm still quite confused with this new format. & theres really nothing wrong with Hip-hop/rap being on TRL, it's just that, there not putting the good rap/hip-hop in the top 10. Like Common or Kanye West, but there putting the crappy stuff like Soulja Boy & Flo Rida, I mean so far none of Kanyes videos have been on, i mean what is that about? Soulja Boy makes it on but not Kanye?
