Reality TV always get's more ratings.
People in the UK had the choice of watching it online (it was posted on iPlayer at the same time the show started) or seeing it in cinema's.
In my local cinema in Australia, they had 400 people alone and it was one of the smaller sessions. 4 theaters at 4pm. All full on arrival. Imagine how many people around the world saw it at the Movies instead. If it wasn't for iPlayer etc. and it was a strictly TV only event it would have been 100M+
But never compare Drama to Reality. Reality is more universal.
